Hamster Comics does not host comic content and does not proactively upload imported book contents to developer-operated servers. Accounts, purchase verification, remote connections, and release-build analytics create the limited network transfers described below.
Scope and controller
This policy applies to the Hamster Comics mobile application and official website. The developer of Hamster Comics (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is the controller for the processing described here and can be contacted at g55917050@gmail.com. Cloud drives, NAS devices, OPDS libraries, and other services you connect are independent providers governed by their own policies.
Data stored on your device
Imported books and comics, generated covers and caches, reading progress, bookmarks, tags, statistics, appearance preferences, and remote-source settings are stored primarily on your device. We do not proactively read or upload book contents. When you initiate an import, share, Wi-Fi transfer, or remote-reading action, the app processes the relevant files only as needed to complete it.
Account and authentication data
Linking an email address is optional. If you choose to do so, we process your email address, verification code and status, user identifier, session data, and security tokens to sign you in, protect the account, manage devices, and associate Pro entitlements. Tokens are stored in the device’s secure storage.
Device and purchase data
To verify and restore purchases, manage activated devices, and prevent abuse, we may process a random installation identifier, device name and model, operating-system and app versions, platform, last-seen time, product identifier, signed transaction or receipt data, purchase status, and expiration date. We do not receive your complete payment-card number or marketplace password.
Remote connections
When you add WebDAV, SMB, OPDS, a cloud drive, NAS, or a compatible library, the app uses the server address, username, password, or authorization token you provide to communicate with that service. Credentials are stored primarily on your device and are not used to create advertising profiles. The target service may log IP addresses, access times, and requests under its own policy.
Analytics and diagnostics
Release builds may use third-party analytics services to understand version activity, device and operating-system categories, and general feature usage for analytics, compatibility, and reliability. Depending on the analytics component and system configuration, the data may include SDK and app versions, distribution channel, device model and manufacturer, system version, language, time zone, network state, IP address, and device identifiers available to the component. If you permit the operating system or marketplace to share diagnostics, we may also receive crash and performance reports.
System permissions
The app requests access only when a feature needs it: files and folders for library import and mounting; photos or camera when you choose, capture, or save an image; and Local Network for Wi-Fi transfer, SMB, and local NAS access. You can revoke these permissions in system settings, but the related feature will no longer work.
Purposes
We use information only to provide and maintain reading features, complete remote connections you select, send email verification codes, manage accounts and devices, verify purchases and Pro access, prevent fraud and abuse, secure and troubleshoot the service, and improve the product. We do not sell your book contents or account information.
Third-party services
To provide the account, purchase verification, analytics, communications, website and network services, and user-selected remote connections described in this policy, we may engage or integrate third-party services. They process relevant information only as needed to perform the applicable function and under their privacy terms. Some processing infrastructure may be located outside your country or region; we take necessary safeguards where required by applicable law.
This website
The website does not require an account or create advertising profiles. Hosting and network providers may record standard logs such as IP address, time, browser type, request path, and response status to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Account, device, and entitlement data is kept for the shortest period needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can permanently delete the linked email account and device records through the account entry on the purchase page. Data that must temporarily remain in legal records or backups will be isolated from other processing where required. Deleting the account does not request a marketplace refund or erase records the marketplace retains under its own rules.
Your choices and rights
You can remove books, reading data, and remote sources; manage or remove devices; sign out or delete the account; and revoke system permissions. You may also email us to request access, correction, a copy, deletion, or restriction of personal information we hold. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request to protect account security.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS transport, device secure storage, access controls, and data minimization. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. If a personal-data incident may materially affect you, we will take remedial steps and provide notices or reports as required by applicable law.
Minors
Minors should use the app, link an account, and make purchases with guidance and consent from a parent or guardian. If we learn that a minor provided personal information without appropriate guardian consent, we will delete it, stop processing it, or take other steps required by applicable law.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when features, providers, or legal requirements change. We will highlight material changes in the app, on the website, or in release notes and obtain renewed consent when required. Send privacy questions, complaints, or rights requests to g55917050@gmail.com.
